Emmie goes to the groomer every couple of months to have her the whole nine yards done (puppy cut etc.) So they have to cut everything on her.

Lilah is a goldendoodle, but she doens't have the really long coat, just the scruffy rough fur that is medium length. I usually do her grooming since her whole coat doesn't need to be cut, just the sanitary suff and random trimming here and there.

They are both going to the groomer on tuesday, I just don't have the energy to groom Lilah right now so I'm having them do it (we have sent her once before) There are a few specific things I want done, so is it reasonable for me to make a little list to send with my husband when he drops them off? The back her of legs up high are getting a bit too long and I'd like it cut.. but I DON'T want them to shave it, I want it scissor trimmed and I'd like to the scissor trim her face a little bit since the poodle in her makes her face fur a little longer then a golden's, especially around the eyes... I'd also like her tail trimmed this time (like they would a golden, even though hers is more wavier and rough than a golden's tail), the fur is getting quite long on there. Of course I want the usual pads, sanitary, nails etc.

Is it alright for me to write down the specifics like wanting those certain places trimmed and specifying I want it scissor trimmed not shaved? I don't want to come off rude, I just don't want her all jacked up.

more then acceptable, If you don't they may do all kinds of odd things, or leave it alone. I have learned that groomers prefer for you to be as exact as possible. I notice when I am blase about how I want my dog to look she will come home looking jacked up.

That's what I kinda thought. I know if I don't have Tony mention her legs they wont do it... but I'm scared if I don't specify scissor cut they will shave it :lol That'd just be bad.

yea definitely make notes... we do grooming at my work and it's always a huge help when people are specific about what they want! mind-reading isn't really our strong point :lol

definitely send a note/list if you are not the one dropping off. i know from personal experience it makes things a lot easier and a lot less confusing.

what you're asking for is far from out of the ordinary. the "pants" or the hair on the butt you want scissored up on lilah, is what i do to goldens on almost a daily basis. they'll probably use a #10 blade to scoop out her eyes because of the coat she has she's got that stuff that grows up around her eyes, but that should be all they do with a blade on the face. then they'll just trim up her muzzle to make it nice and even.

girl i wish you were still here so bad now that i'm grooming! i'd take awesome care of your girls!

I send a list even if i am the one taking them in...The place we go to now had like 10 dogs there so I know how it is to be busy sometimes and forget things...But I am the inspector general LOL I make sure they are good to go when picked up. We had someone JACK up our ES and i wont have it happen again.
