Well we have just under 2 weeks until the movers come. On the paper work I got from smartwebmove it suggests we offer them food and drinks. What do you ladies think and what have you done for your moves?
TIA

We got the huge Subway subs and some 2 litres of soda once and the last time we got a bunch of pizza's and some 2 litres again.

I usually keep drinks on hand for them (I found most of our movers preferred soda to bottled water) and buy them lunch (either pizza or a bunch of hambugers and fries from the dollar menu at a fast food place). I think they kind of expect it but have always been appreciative when I give it to them.

I usually only get drinks for them -- it was hot when we moved so we provided water. I certainly wouldn't be buying them food--they're gonna break half my stuff anyways--why feed them too?

:lmao

I have never fed them either. :dunno I didn't know you were supposed to! :lol I still don't think I will though! When we did a dity move we fed the guys off the boat that helped us, and we bought tons of soda. But the guys who work for the moving companies are being PAID to move my stuff, I shouldn't have to feed them. Of course I give them water though.

We have the packing scheduled for 3 days. So I guess I should provide something for all 3 days. This is the first time I have to do this alone so I dont have a clue. Usually DH does it and the kids and I go to the lodge and wait. Thanks for the info ladies. I have been saving those $4 a pizza coupon for dominos and I have a couple of free pizza coupons for garlic jims. We have alot of Lodge stays ahead of us so I need to save money where I can.

Thanks Again!

I usually just provide water; I wasn't there this last time when they packed (I was at work, DH was there). If you have any pre-packaged food that you can't take (IE if it's open chips etc) you can always get some paper plates or bowls and put them out for them to snack....just a thought on ways to get rid of stuff you can't take.

Thanks, thats a great idea. I usually just give them to the neighbors but they are moving a week after we do.
