:arg Somehow, we owe the Army $2000 for our move -dh is going to see them later this morning to see if he can find out HOW (because we just don't see HOW we could owe that much, we didn't even get that much in advance for the partial DITY and we had more weight than we estimated. It HAS to be for the DITY, because they JUST sent us money for the travel.)

Anyway, we've already spent that money on a car for my husband, just an older Subaru, so we don't have a car payment for it, so if we really do owe them that, we can't just take it out of that.

So, if they won't take payments on it and they end up just taking our pay (dh is going to get a pay advance if that's the case, thankfully that's an option for us since it hasn't been 30 days yet) will our allotments still get paid? How does this work, we've never had them have to take money back before.

This move has been one thing or another, seriously. :duh

I got the weight wrong. We had a TOTAL of about 6400 pounds. (I just went off the top of my head, dh had the paperwork and told me :lol) he's thinking it can't be the partial DITY b/c that's more than what we got in advance. He thinks they had to have made a mistake somewhere. :shrug Hopefully he'll have some info after his meeting at 9 with finance.

were you over your weight limit? i would ask finance/PSD for a break down in the accounting of how you owe.

I think total we had 7000 or so. We're allowed 8000 (E4). I know the shipment had in the 6500 range and on us we had about 500 pounds.

Even if you do actually end up owing, it will be broken up and you will make payments monthly. They just take it right out of the check. BTDT, got the tshirt. It isn't fun.

Oh so they will take it out monthly? I've heard so many horror stories about people getting "No Pay Due" that I was worried :lol

Dh went to finance today and the lady who handles this is out today and tomorrow he has a newcomers briefing with the General, so who knows if he'll get to go tomorrow. Hopefully by Thursday.

The advance pay you got for the DITY part of the move was based on how much weight your husband estimated that ya'll would be moving. If he over-estimated ya'll could definitely owe.

It might not be because of the move but your BAH. We had that when we moved from WY to MT. The BAH was different and we had to pay the difference of the two.

Update- Finance said that they don't know why they sent that because the Partial DITY hasn't been settled yet. She said that the way we got our advances for the move made it seem like we got too much, but she doesn't think that we really did. It's just a wait and see thing, I guess. Hopefully it works out in our favor. If we break even I'll be happy. lol Thanks:)

you DLA is at least 1800, did you get 100% of that in advance?

your Per diem is 109 a day for the member, 75% for you and children 12 and up and 50% for children under 12- this is PER day of authorised travel. did you get 100% of that in advance?

your Mileage is 19 cents a mile per vehicle per mile for AUTHORISED miles... did you get 100% of that up front?

did you use TLE?

DID you use ALL your authorised travel days before using TLE?

you should not have gotten ANY of the partial dity money in advance- it should be a reimbursement only- regardless if you went over your estimate or not-
if you got partial dity money- how much did you actually get?

:whew someone finally did their math right :tu glad it worked out :)

UGH, today we got a letter in the mail saying we DO owe. WTF? dh called, but got voice mail and the voice mail box was full. So he'll have to call back on Monday. I wish they'd make up their minds if we owe or not.
