We're waiting to hear back from the vet about getting her an appointment, but in the meantime, help me out!

Last night she threw up twice in her crate. Two nice piles of dog food from her dinner. She also whined to be let out in the wee hours of the morning, which is definitely not like her. Throughout the day she has been needing to go outside every 30-ish minutes and even peed in the house twice, two very small puddles. She also barely touched her food since this morning. I put down her normal cup and half and she had maybe 5 bites, but it almost looks like she hasn't touched it. That's been all day.

She acts fine though. Wants to play, wants to eat scraps the kids drop, etc. Could that be a bladder infection? She has a hooded vulva (:giggle) which causes her to get UTI's. She also got all her shots done 6 days ago including a heartworm test and a new round of heartworm pills (about a month lapsed when she didn't have any because we ran out right before we left on vacation) but I didn't think she would be showing signs this long after.

The throwing up part puzzles me if it's a bladder infection though, same with the eating problems. :puzz My poor pup. :(

She could have a UTI...And it could cause her to not feel well...

Vax reactions happen immediately. What kind of dog is she, some cant handle the ivermectin (white footed breeds)..

She's had all the shots before, including heartworm tests as she's 3 years old, and never had a problem like this. The only time she ever had any kind of reaction was the first time she went on heartworm and gave her runny poop for about a day or two, which they said was normal...she's a Chesapeake Bay Retriever.

I wasn't aware of that one! Jessie has been having alot of accidents lately, she'll go downstairs and pee, even if its only a small amount. :thinking

How do they diagnose a UTI in a dog?

There was one day that Jake spent the whole day vomiting, it was horrible. But the day next he was ok. I wouldn't be to concerned about the vomiting just yet, unless it continues, or she becomes lethargic.

The constant urinating would leave me to believe a UTI also. Especially since you said they were small amounts. Vomiting could be a result of just not feeling well or perhaps a low fever. :dunno

Hope your pup is feeling better soon.

yep... same as in humans, with a uti, you have the urge to pee but only in small amounts... I think it is a UTi as well...

with the vomit... is she not eating as usual? our girl Keeshond, if she doesn't eat because she isn't well, it turns her stomach and well she will eat grass outside so she can vomit it... did she bite on some toys to where she could do a thing cats do and be slightly like a hair ball? my dogs have done that as well...

But the vomiting could just be that she is now running a fever with the UTI as stated above... I would take her to the vet immediately if she is lethargic or won't eat or drink... but hopefully you have here going ASAP... Let us know what the doc says....

Sounds like a UTI to me also.

Vet never called us back yesterday so hopefully today. However she seems to be much better today. She didn't whine at all to be let out last night and has gone her normal amount so far this morning. She also ate her food.

She hasn't had any change in her actual behavior though. Still jumping around and playing. I almost thought I caused her discomfort because I took her on my run the day before yesterday. I'm taking her on my run today as well, so hopefully it's not that. :suspect She'll be fine though. We'll get her into a vet and see if she needs antibiotics or not.

Thanks guys.
