When the walls get marks on them from a chair rubbing up on it how do you clean it off without ruining the paint on the wall?
For example when I take a sponge and pass it along the wall, the paint on the starts rubbing off and then there's like a powder left on the wall when it dries.. How do I pervent that?

I use Magic Eraser also, but it still takes the pain off. I was wondering the same thing.

If the paint is really scratched so that it comes off when you scrub, you might just have to touch it up with spackle or paint :dunno That's weird because usually the Magic Eraser takes marks off walls just great...hmm...guess you could try a little dish soap and water and a soft sponge, see if that works.

That's because it's probably cheap paint. It happens to us. We just deal with it and try to be gentle :teehee

Yep Yep and did I say Yep. I can't use the magic eraser on some spots in the house b/c they layed on so many layers of paint that it just peels off. Soft toothbrush and toothpaste should do the job perfectly! If you need to be even gentler then that then go for a soft cloth and the toothpaste.

I agree with the toothpaste! Hairspray and dish soap works wonders for crayon marks, too!

Oh - and the chair-mark issue is the reason why mid-rails are so common. (A decorative strip of wood, etc, that runs around chair-top heighth in the room.)

If it's a constant issue then look into the pre-stained stuff...just get a hand-saw, a mitre box and some screw :yes
That's what I'd do - and be done with it!

I live in an old complex so its prob is cheap paint. :(

I love the wall rails but like I mentioned I live in a complex I doubt I can put them up.

I'm moving in 2 weeks so I was trying to find something that works good so I don't have to pay maintenance to paint the whole apartment.
