This is so simple and it never occured to me until the other day.

Buy a bag of frozen fruit (I bought a big bag of mixed fruits, actually) and throw the frozen fruit into your blender - add some milk or juice (to help liquify your drink) and whirrrr away.

Did that tonight and it was awesome and sooooo much cheaper than buying fresh fruit.
I'd say that I spent maybe $1.00 on smooties for everyone considering I didn't use up but a small bit of the fruit that came in the big bag.

:yes Yup that's how I always make my smoothies! I actually find that the frozen fruit is better because it gives it more of the thick consistency I like. I throw frozen yogurt in there too just for an extra bit of good for me :D

Thats how I make mine also but I like to add in a little bit of the fat free vanilla yogurt too, which gives it a sweeter flavor and more creamy consistency. I (L) them but they are not good for my blood sugar :no

I like to mix mine up, like I will use a dannon orange sherbert yogurt with frozen strawberries and then add some pineapple juice. My favorite though is frozen strawberries with bananna yogurt and orange juice.

I use to use just fresh-fruit so it was a once-a-month treat for everyone because that's just expensive.
But now I just need a bag of fruit and there you go.

I made one for breakfast. :giggle

that's how I do mine as well. if I didn't get enough dairy during the day I might throw some light vanilla soy.

I currently have frozen raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, pineapples, mangoes etc.......

Also if I notice no one is eating the fresh fruit I'll cut it into small pieces and freeze it for smoothies for me!
