So looks like I'll be going out to dinner for my 30th Bday on Thursday night (the 8th) and I would like to go somewhere nice. I don't want a place that is too crazy like TGIFridays, but nothing too expensive like Ruth Chris. I would like something nice in the midrange, and in the central San Diego area, like Mission Valley or Mira Mesa.
So far the only thing I can think of is PF Changs. Are there any nice restaurants in SD that you ladies have gone to that you really like? Oh yea, it has to be somewhere that people can actually park, LOL, so no downtown.
Any ideas?

I really like Lotus Thai in Hillcrest. They have $4 parking for 2 hours in the rite aid parking lot across from the restaurant. It is super good food. There is also Hunters Steakhouse off of Taylor Street/Hotel Circle exit in Mission Valley. They have awesome steak. I'll try to think of more places and let you know.

We went to Shogun for our anniversary and it was really cool. You can sit on the sushi bar side of the restaurant, if you want a more "mellow" dinner..

It's not Central San Diego, but I'd recommend Peohe's in Coronado. I went there for Prom and will NEVER forget it! I think I'll take DH there next time we're in town. (L)

I know you said no downtown, but what about doing a dinner cruise on the Hornblower? Parking isn't too bad down there (it's metered) and the dinner cruise is awesome...we went for my 25th B-Day last year....had a blast :)

I want to go too. It is next to where dh gets his jeep fixed. :giggle The location is weird since it is kind of industrial stuff surrounding it.
