He was informed yesterday that he should be leaving for Afghanistan in about 30 days, give or take.

No, I haven't met anyone yet... and I missed all the pre deployment briefings... his unit is already there. has been for a few months.

I do plan on staying here. My mom said I can come home anytime I want.... but I am a married adult now... I don't need to live with her. she, my stepdad, and my brother are visiting for a week in August and I will probably go home for a few weeks.. maybe a month for Christmas.

He will probably be gone for about a year... His unit is set for the typical 15 months but have been told they should be home a month or two early.
