I was given a book that has numbers of child care providers and places for children in it and as I was looking through it I came across a place called The Learning Stables....
Reading the description it's for children that have delays, from moderate to severe...they list social delays as one of them....it got me thinking about calling and finding out more info on it, it's not far from where we live, and I'm thinking that it might do Eian some good.

This summer is going to be a change from him and that's a BIG issue for him *CHANGE* so I'm trying to find things that will help him until school starts again.
What do you Mommas think? Do you think that it would be a good idea to see if I can get into him the program. I guess part of me feels that although a delay and hard for us to deal with at times because of the 'quirks' it causes I feel that it's not as bad as some other parents child and they could take a spot instead ya know?
but then I think that if I don't try and see if he can do it then I'm halting any kind of help that I could do for him by keeping him introduced into different places and people to help with his delays.....I just don't know

I think if it is a good place, then go for it! I know that with my dd's preschool, they have a mix of kiddos, from typical kids to very severely disabled. That way they all kind of learn from each other, if that makes sense. You can at least apply for the program, if they feel that he would benefit from it, then they will accept him, if that makes sense. I wouldn't worry about him taking a spot someone else needs, let them decide that. Good luck with your decision!
