Say you are stationed at A (and live in military housing)and your husband's ship is decommed. He gets orders to B and you do not want to move with him because 1. you are tired of moving and 2. you are tired of ripping the kids out of school. Typically the Navy moves you to the new duty station but will they move you out of housing and into another place when your husband transfers to his new command? They would be moving you if you went with your husband so why not just move you out in town (saves the Navy money) where you are currently at.
Does this make sense?

I can say from personal experience probably not. Usually the only time you get a move like that is if say he was going IA they would move you back home or wherever you wish. kwim. However.... never say never ask personal property what your options are and if it is possible.

well Im pretty sure he can do a geobachelor thing. My husbands dong that right now, he isn't at his new command yet, so we moved early, and he is in barracks until he gets out here, Im sure its the same kind of thing. otherwise, Just stay put until the end of the school year, or go early for the start of the new year.
Thanks but we would NOT be going with him. I just wanted to know if the Navy would move us out of housing to out in town instead of moving us to another duty station in another state with him.
