This is my first deployment and I have no idea what to do with this custom form....
A friend of mine told me that they only parts you fill out are the:
To, From, Description and sign it.

Does this hold any truth?

Also it says a detailed description..... If I have water guns, and different little toys in the there, books, candy and other snacks should I be vague about it and just write snacks, toys and books or should I write out everything that is in the box?

Any other things that I should know about this form?

Thanks!

I'm always vague about the contents. I would do as you suggested and just put toys, snacks, etc. If you don't have the form completed fully they will help you out at the post office counter. There is also a place at the bottom of the form where you have to check a box regarding what you'd like done with the package if it is undeliverable. I usually check 'return to sender'.

just fill out the "to" and "from" under contents I usually put snacks....and on the bottom right hand side check return to sender if you want the package returned if lost....:D

I sent a package per week, for 13 months, and was always very vague. I would put:
Candy, personal hygiene products, books, letter, photos. But, never a detailed description of every little thing. My dad said being less vague, would probably give the package a higher chance of being opened, and have things taken out. His wife, described things, and even if it was only some sort of cookie, or a certain type of deodorant, sometimes things would go missing. My husband never had a package opened throughout the entire deployment. :)

pretty much, some PO's make you list the cost of them, others don't care, i guess it just depends. You can be vague or exact. If it is expensive I don't list it because it could get stolen.

I am always vague.
I put to / from
Check gift and the bottom
Below the description it wants a total value. I always put 20$
and I always check treat as abandon except maybe once when there was something very expensive in there and I put return to sender. Then sign and date.

I'm very vague however if you put any liquids make sure you put in ziplocks and what the liquid is..they are less likely to open it if they know what the liquid is--learned the hard way and DB lost a few of his precious Monster energy drinks to a mr sticky fingers. oh and i always check return to sender.

Just make sure that you do not fill out the country box. We have gotten stuff lost in the Italian mail here b/c family and freinds that send us stuff and put italy. APO AE equals US.

And I agree with being vague. WHen I mail stuff back to the states, I just put book, clothes...ect.

I am a little vague about what is in there - today I put book, miscellaneous personal care, card, snacks.

I fill out the to and from, date it and check gift. I think that is it, but the lady at the PO makes sure it's all there too. She gave me extra custom forms too so i can fill them out at home before heading over.
