They are testing me for gestational diabetes early on because I'm on the "fluffy" side, and I had to take the 3 hour test today. Well it sucked!!! I do really bad with needles to begin with....i get lighthead and nauseaus(sp?) and feel like i'm going to pass out...but not only did the chick send pain to my wrist on the 2nd withdraw, on the last one she accidentally pulled it out so they had to stick me 5 times!!! The 2nd withdraw sucked...she stuck it in and pain just shot to my wrist. IT HURT!! I've never had anything like that happen before, and it was not fun! I felt really sick after that, and to make things worse, the stupid pregnant lady that was all fine and dandy and not pale as hell from feeling sick decided to hog the lazyboy they had there so I couldn't lay down. It was NOT fun. But on the bright side, I did better this time than last time :lmao

I failed my first glucose test and had to do the three hour. I learned from my first test starbucks before is not a good idea. I have small viens so I was lucky to get an experienced lady drawing my blood the fourth time around. I have to get my test early too. I have large babies so they watch my closely. I am sorry that is wasn't a good experience. Hopefully next time it will go better.

Im sorry it was that bad for you!! I had to do the three hour test also so I know its not a piece of cake!!

I did the 3 hour test with my last one and it sucked royally...I almost passed out...I was shakey too...I hope I don't have to do it this time again!

I have to do the 3 hour test every couple of years for diabetes. My family has it really bad. its no picnic even when your not pregnant. Just wait to till they change it from 3 hour to 2 1/2 that means every half hour your stuck instead of every hour.

I can't watch them stick the needle in or my vein moves and the idiot person trys to follow it with the needle STILL IN MY ARM. that hurts. because the lift it out a bit then go back in for the kill.

I have a DR appt on June 2nd and I just know she is going to send me for blood work. that means 12 vials of blood to test.

testestrone,
cholestral,
thyroid,
diabetes,
insulin,

and any thing else she can think of UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

And I have no doubt since its been a while since I did the sugar test I'm gonna get that one two.

it sucked for her. She looked like she beat her legs up all the time.

Holy cow Penny! That would suck...all of it!! I an soooo bad with needles, but I guess having done the 3 hour this time and having to do it at 30 something weeks might help me get over it :)
