i don't want to celebrate it without him.

last year we went to this awesome outdoor flea market, and spent all day wandering around and buying weird things.

this year, he DID buy me a beautiful necklace, but it's no substitute for being with him. he was on the phone with me when i blew the candles out on my cake, but it was so awkward.

my family is trying to celebrate and cheer me up, and my friends kept calling and texting and trying to invite me out tonight, but i really don't feel like going anywhere.

i want him home. :sadeyes it's just another stupid day without db.

I spent my first birthday while dating him without him too. I was sad, but we celebrated next time we were together. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I know how you feel :depressed DH deployed 2 days before my birthday and my family was the same way. They did get me a massage and I couldn't pass that up though :wink it was really hard with out him. Its ok though...I think we would be weird if we were happy our men were not home for our birthdays :hugehug

Happy birthday!!!! I am sorry he can't be there with you. Just try to think of it as another milestone you have reached that means time is passing and he is closer to coming home.

Sadly, I'm actually getting kind of used to it. DH hasn't actually been home for my birthday for the past 3 years but we always celebrated before or after. This year I kinda just don't want a birthday... its just another day without him and I'd rather it just go by, you know?

I hope that your night got better. i understand how you feel because DF left 9 days before my bday and not even a month before he left i had shoulder surgery so i was still sore and going thru PT.
