hi,
im a newbie as well and i appreciate the group and all it has to offer. this is a very hard time for me and i have found it very difficult to encounter and talk to those who could relate. i hope that none are shy and all pass down the wisdom and guidance they have acquired through the years...I NEED IT!!

thank you all for your kind word and welcome...i am a college student in virginia...originally from chicago...fiance from virginia...been together three years and this is his first long deployment...he was gone three or four months for others...dont really know how to deal with all that i am feeling....sad, alone, hurt, nostalgic, hopeful....but want to be as supportive of him as i can be...i know he must be going through a lot as well...anything else you would like to know...please dont hesitate to ask...i am appreciative, and in fact relying on any helpful and uplifting advice.
also, i am putting together my first care package...any ideas? i want to send food (he eats just about anything...i think his stomach is made of cast iron...lol) but dont know what will keep.
thanks you guys....or girls rather.
