The search box in the header, at the top of the screen has been modified a bit and all searches typed into that box are now done through google's search engine.

It essentially works the same way as our vbulletin search feature, but is even better in a few ways like being able to search for shorter words that are disabled with the vbulletin search (such as things like "sta-21" like Victoria mentioned last week) and you'll probably notice that the Google searches are also quite a bit faster because Google is awesome like that :lol

The results screen looks a little bit different, but all of the results you see on there are from our site and it basically will pull up the same types of results, just with a different format.

If you don't like this search feature and prefer to use the vbulletin search, all you need to do is click on the little hour glass in the upper right hand corner, and that will take you straight to our built in vbulletin search page.

So, the best of both worlds :)

FREAKING AWESOME! There are a ton of three letter acronyms in the military, so this will be so helpful! (PCS, OCS, EFM, searching for rates (FC, ET, etc)) Thank you so much Brandi! (L)

Yep yep, it's going to definitely help with the acronyms. The vbulletin engines do not handle 3 letter words well at all, because you end up with searches taken FOR-EVER and server load issues, but the Google search is obviously awesome b/c that's what they specialize in :lol Google can handle just about anything, I am convinced. I'd like to see what their server setups look like. :eek
