This is what the detailer sent my dh today.....

Your orders are generated, but any detach on or after October 1 we must
wait for funding approval.

This is how my dh replied.....


Chief,

My rotation Date (PRD) is 23 September 2008. I am suppose to detach on
that Date. So when will the funding approval come in?

The last I checked September comes before October!!! Please make up our minds for us!!!!!!!

Unfortunately a LOT of people are being hit by the funding issues. We would have but thankfully we stuck with the same duty station.

The funding can affect September orders as well. I see it happen year after year.

They kinda did that to my dh. Our original date to leave was around that same time but last year. Then they had to redo it so we could all travel together and they were saying that the Navy was out of money and we would have to wait.

Just push the issue we did.

I guess we were lucky. The only time we ever moved at that time of year our stuff went right into non-temp storage B/C DH was going on deployment a few weeks after arriving at his new duty station and I went home.

they did that to us when we got the ordersfrom maryland to here. We got to move in time.

This happens every year because the budget has to be approved and then divided out when the fiscal year changes . The end of the fiscal year is September 30th the start of the new one October 1st. Orders in those time frames always get a bit wonky.
