I'm not quite sure why I wanted to join a support group or whatever one might call this. And an online one at that. I very rarely use the internet. I also tend to ramble. I apologize.
So... I have been dating my boyfriend for two years now, which isn't such a big deal, but we have been close friends for about twelve years.
He came to me six months ago and told me he was joining the Navy. I had no idea how to respond and admittedly I wasn't extremely accepting in the beginning. I finally came around and I offered my support, but I was still skeptical. He's now through bootcamp and into his A school and he's doing well and likes it... I'm just having a difficult time adjusting.

Me and my DB have been together less than 2 years and about 3 months or so ago he's like "I'm joining the Air Force and I really need you to be there for me." I was really upset and confused and hated it up until recently when I realized he's serious and really wants to do this. Now I'm so behind him 100%... this group has helped some. Anyways, welcome again.
