Or, rather, SHOULD I assume that my DB will get extended? They gave me a rough ETA which was sooner than I had initially thought so I am afraid to get my hopes up. So, do I just assume they get extended? How many troops actually get extended? Is it a common thing to have happen in the Navy?

in redhorse (special ops civil engineering), which is what my hubby is in the air force, it is very common to be extended. they will hold you out there as long as possible if needbe. i wouldn't get your hopes up but it's very nice that you have received word that he's possibly coming home sooner than later. that's never a bad thing :D
