Hi ladies, just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Katherine and DF is Brent. We've been together for almost 4 years, we're getting married this September!!! :grin:I'm SO excited, I can't wait!!! Right now we're in AK, well I am, he's down in MO for school, and it's been so hard, we're used to spending almost every waking moment together, although we do spend time apart, but this has been the longest we've been apart. He's been gone for almost two months now. And I know that to some it'll seem like nothing and I understand, but the most we've ever been aparts was 2 weeks, and I'm not being very successful at adjusting to this. When we first got together he was full time AF, then he was given a choice to get out or get a desk job, since his position was overmanned, so he got out. Last summer he joined in with the Reserves, and now he calls me and tells me that they're offering for him to get back in active, full time AF. So if end up going that route I'm sure he would be gone more often and for longer periods of time. So I figured I would find something somewhere where I can pick up some tricks of the trade to dealing with deployments, and also just talk to someone who has some idea of what I'm going through, and tell me I'm not crazy.:P Well this should be enough for now, I look forward to getting to know you ladies a little better, as well as getting to know all the military lingo/info. :)

Welcome! Me and my airman are getting married at the end of September too! And then we are moving to Alaska... so we have a bit in common! My guy is in tech school right now. He has been gone since march and I got to go see him graduate in April for a few days but that was it. And I don't see him again until September.. so I feel your pain!

Thank you, again, ladies for all your warm welcomes. I think that this would be the perfect place for me to occupy my thoughts while DF is gone. Plus since he's joining back in, I think that it would be very useful for me to stick around and learn all the lingo and the "rules" of being married into the military. Although I've dated a few Air Force guys, it's not the same as marrying into it, I think. Thanks again, ladies. :D
