Hi I am another newbie! my boyfriend has left four months ago and wont get back from iraq until the first of the year:( I am hoping this will help out because the friends that dont go through this, never seem to understand! Its been really hard, its the first deployment that im going through and hoping their is no more after this! People say it gets easier as time goes on, but it seems not to be that way!

No unfortunately, i don't believe it gets easier...however you do get stronger. :D

I've found this site just for that reason, I think friends who are not military don't understand, I mean majority of mine are telling me that they would welcome a break from their SO, but it's never like that. And from reading some of the posts on here, I already feel like these ladies are very supportive and welcoming, but above all understand the situation you're in since they've 'been there done that'. Welcome!!!

welcome....I'm Elise...you just have to give yourself time to adjust to it all...and stay as busy as possible. I feel like im on one huge deployment my guy is stationed overseas for two years....cant wait untill he gets some type of leave so we can decided who is going to see who.
