The divorce thread got me thinking about this lol. Do any of you have funny engagement stories??

Well my parents didn't do anything romantic, they were sitting at the kitchen table eating breakfast and my dad just said to my mom "let's get married". So they did lol.

But DB's parents on the other hand.....

DB's parents were both in the Army and they were stationed in Germany when DB's dad proposed to his mom, in the back of a beer tent!!!! He was also drunk at the time lol.

Anyway, DB's mom had to pay for both of the engagement rings, and when she asked his dad if he was planning on paying her back he said "no sweetie, it's OUR money now."

They're still together 30+ years now. lol

when DH was gonna propose his mother ruined it the first time and second it was on christmas eve and she blurted out well not that everyone is hear and done opening presents ben would like to make an annoucemnt he was like shut up mom what are you talking about I about died thinking he was gonna do it in front of them..chirstmas day came and went and I kneow it wasn't gonna happen then so then the day after I went to pick hiim up for a date and she said aww I'm so happy for you guys ben is taking you to where you had your first date..she gave it away again..he ended up proposing but I didn't tell him what his mom had said intill after he was so mad at her..lol

Mine proposed to me in my parents' house, recovering from an emergency appendectomy, without the ring, while I was crying! Ridiculous man :sweetheart I love him!

Mine proposed to me in a Taco Bell drive through with the ring in a bag of skittles. He has always been a little original :) Now we have Mexican food every year on our anniversary.

My brother in law proposed to my sister on april fools day... she said no because she thought it was a joke :giggle Then he asked her again the next day and she said yes lol

My dad proposed to my mom in a parking lot. Near the beach. They were parking in a car. This is surprising, because their favorite past-time of that era is buying a bottle of wine, throwing it in their motorcycle pack and boozing at the beach.

Our engagement story's a little funny, more awkward than anything. I was flopped on the bed of our bed and breakfast... and he got on one knee, right next to the bed... while I was laying on my belly. It was an awkward moment...
