I don't know anything about military flights because I'm just too new to all of this to know that. To find inexpensive flight though you can try sidestep.com, lastminute.com, kayak.com, or even direct airline sites like jetblue.com or virginamerica.com

Good luck! :D

i would say southwest.com and sign up for rapid rewards if you can? if they don't fly out of SC i would try sites like priceline.com or expedia.com. they make it a little easier to compare flight prices.

so your DB is going to be a 2nd class? mine is going to be a firstie :) he's in 7th company- which one is yours in? ahh i'm going to friend you haha and we will PM hopefully :)

I fly from MD with Southwest all the time. They have the cheapest flights.

it really all depends. i've seen it be way cheaper flying into a small airport than the closest large airport. use kayak.com to look for airfare & try all the options as far as airports go.

he could maybe catch a military flight...its fairly close tho. I'd just do:

www.southwest.com (they fly out of Balto to Charlotte I believe) than go pick him up
www.orbtiz.com
www.jetblue.com
www.travelocity.com

Call the airline direct. Usually after 1 am. That is when you can get the best prices and they have time to really look and get the bottom line. Mention that he is military and they have discounts for that. They will even tell you if they have better fares than military. I have tried all of those sites mentioned and still almost 100% get a better deal calling direct.

2 examples:
Flight to Germany (for 1) ----Priceline, Expedia $1500
----Call direct to airline $685

Flight Washington State to Missouri (for 2)------Expedia $1250
------Direct to Airline Started at $785
Military $650
Final cost $562

I have gotten pretty good prices during the day as well---I usually ask if there is anything better they can find after they find the military rate. They are always happy to do so and I end up with great airfares.
