Well my soon to be DH is going to nuclear school in goose creek and I have a couple questions.

I have a doberman pinscher that I have had for 2 years now can I have with base houseing??? If I cant can you give me some references to other places if you know of any???

He told me for the first 6 months of school we have to live on base then we can move off of it. Is this true and could you explain why?

Thank you for your help!!

Yes you can have your dog in housing.

You have to live onbase for the first 6 months of nuke school because it is such a rigorous program and your DH needs to give it his full attention. Don't be angry with him when you don't see much of him - it's worth it in the end but nuke school is no joke. Honestly, it might behoove you to just stay where you are for awhile if you can. It really does suck for the SOs.

:yes

And you know that you do have to be married before you can move onto base right? I know you said soon to be DH and just wanted to make sure you knew that :teehee

Everyone and their mother has dogs here. Literally every single person on my street has dogs.. most have 2. Now that GMH took over they do have breed restrictions BUT I don't think dobermans are restricted. May want to look into that before hand though.

I agree with Becca, if your dh is going to be a student at the nuke school, you probably want to live as close to base as possible, that way when he actually gets to come home, it won't take him so long to get there!

If you have any questions about nuke school, feel free to pm me, I went through the program back in 98-99 so I've very familiar with it!

You think it's nice here? :eek I haven't been to historical charleston yet.. but I think goose creek is a poopie hole. I only like living here because being on base my husband can come home for lunch most days and things like that. (he's an instructor at the school.)

Well hon they think they know how hard it is going to be but they HAVE NO IDEA until they are going through it. My DH graduates Prototype in under 2 months. TRUST me you are not prepared, none of us ever were.

Goose Creek BLOWS. I worked for Goose Creek High School and Berekely County. BUT Goose Creek is not Charleston. You have not truly experienced SC unless you go downtown to the battery and walk around Waterfront Park and all the small streets. I am a History buff so I was enamored with Charleston.

I miss it more and more each day.
