It's where you can try to hop on a flight for free because you are military. You can't really plan, and you could be waiting 24 hours or so, but it is free. It is just based on availability.

Sounds like it may be worth a try at least once... Thanks for the info! :thumbsup

I've never done it but I have a friend that has done a few. You have to be extremely flexible and you're not garaunteed anything...you can show up with your suitcase and think you have a spot and all of a sudden they end up using the seat and your out of luck.

My friend is pretty flexible, she has no children and stays home so it's convenient for her but I don't think I could "chance" my entire trip. You have to plan for either purchasing a same day flight (can be very pricey) or risk being stuck anywhere from a few days to a few weeks until another spot opens up for you on your way back if the flight falls through.

That's what I've heard second-hand. Even though it is free, I think it's too much of a hassle.

I have used it a couple of times to fly from Germany back to the States. I would use it again, but I also just plan my trip when all the kids are in school and lest likely to be traveling. So I have a better chance of getting on the flight. I am not sure exactly where you can go when taking the flight, here is a link of FAQ that might help.

I've done it to the states and back, but unless you are extremely flexible I don't recommend it.
