I am in love with this area.
I went yesterday, and I bought an annual pass to Back Bay Wildlife Refuge. Then I walked on the Beach by the Little Island Fishing Pier (is that what it's called? Little Island?)
It was practically empty, and it was gorgeous. There was a line of pelicans swooping around, and at one point, they were just under the curl of a wave about to break. They pulled up right before it did. It was like watching pelicans surf, only they weren't in the water. Too cool.
There were skate egg cases everywhere, ghost crabs skittling around, and I even found a bone - looks like a shoulder bone from a sea turtle.
Pretty darn cool, and very relaxing. I highly recommend that beach!
