View Full Version : Tattoos! (and FT CAMPBELL/CLARKSVILLE, TN)
Bryanna 05-17-2008, 03:01 PM For all you tattoo lovers, I have a couple questions!
Any tips you guys have? any rules I should know about?? I know all about all the safety quidelines I should worry about as far as used needles, fresh ink, the use of autclaves.... but what else should I know? Is it highly recommended that you not get a tattoo if you have a cold?
Does anyone know of a good tattoo artist/parlor in the clarksville TN/Ft Campbell area??
TIA!
Umm, if you know all the safety rules. Then, anything on a bone hurts worse than a lot of fleshy padding. Make sure you aren't allergic to the dyes they use. If you don't like the place / artist / aren't comfortable, don't do it.
Good luck!
browneyedbeauty 05-17-2008, 05:31 PM Just be careful. Your immune system is already fighting the cold so it might stress it out to have to heal a wound as well.
jlbecker 05-17-2008, 07:38 PM make sure you browse that artist's portfolio!!! i chose my artist because he had done soooo many custom tats and several were art-history related (mine is a famous sculpture) so make sure he/she does the style you want and has done similar ones before with real pictures of the actual tattoos.
Bryanna 05-17-2008, 07:59 PM Excellent, thanks everyone :D
tawny 05-17-2008, 10:42 PM ohh, super important is to NOT TOUCH IT while it's healing.. just rub some unscented lotion [i used Aveeno] on it when it gets dry.. sometimes they flake, sometimes they dont [my DH had a half sleeve of flames done and his scabbed, flaked, you name it] i'm the biggest freak in the world when it comes to picking my scabs so when mine scabbed a tiny bit i had to just ignore it and rub lotion on it. :]
CJMsPrincess 05-22-2008, 03:04 AM I've always used A&D ointment on all my tattoos. Works great never had any issue with it. And yes tattoos on the boney areas hurt the worst. Got mine on my foot. Hurt on the very top but hurt like a mother on the big knuckle. But it was bearable. Everyone has different pain tolerance though.

I didn't read all the way through the thread but tattooing on boney areas hurts more IMO than fleshy areas. My rib cage hurt like a son of a bitch because it was all bone....

MrsSpahn 06-18-2008, 08:50 PM So I was raised around tattoos all my life my uncle was a tattoo artist ( RIP ) but just let to know that most shops run off this ...the artist pockets the money and then at the end of the month pays a rental fee.... So I only tip if I didnt have an appointment or he really did something out of his way...other wise I dont ..bc I know he is pocketing what I am paying him
Loretta 06-18-2008, 08:53 PM Nashville is the way to go. :yes Let me ask my friend who lives there, k? I'll be back in this thread :D
