View Full Version : eyebrows
ali1005 05-20-2008, 12:20 AM I usually just tweeze my eyebrows to keep them under control but they're getting a little ridiculous so i'm thinking of getting them waxed before DB comes home. Do you get them waxed? Does it hurt a lot? About how much does it cost? I have a fear that they're going to make them way too thin. Haha. Any thoughts or whatever welcome. :D

Tell them how much you want removed (i.e, I'd like them cleaned up, with a natural arch) I used to get mine done all the time, It depends on the price, and the part of the country you lived in, I lived in the midwest and it was about 20$, some places go up to $40, I doubt they are more than that anywhere though. It doesn't hurt THAT bad, you feel it, but, it goes quick!
FTCWifey 05-20-2008, 12:27 AM I get mine done for $8. Hurts like a mother to me, but I HATE having facial hair pulled. Tweezing is worse, I actually cry, then there are just soooo many. So waxing is way easier to me :lol My lady just goes with what your natural line is, she just cleans it up.
querida06 05-20-2008, 12:27 AM I get mine threaded for $18 at a dayspa.....the 1st time I went in, it took 5 min
LilyC 05-20-2008, 12:31 AM waxing is so much better.(i think) it hurts yes but its over so fast and is just so much quicker then tweezing. plus it gets hairs you can miss alot when you tweeze. i go to heads up its only like 10 bucks
sierramist87 05-20-2008, 12:33 AM WAX!! mine cost 8 bucks. hurts less cause you don't have to pull everyone out one at a time. Just get the whole thing done at once. I don't think it hurts too bad just for a second. I'd say do it!
Loretta 05-20-2008, 01:17 AM Get them threaded. It won't remove the top two layers of skin like waxing does, and it doesn't pull nearly as bad so you don't end up with sagging eyebrows when you're older. It also looks amazing! My girl back home charges $25.

$15.00 plus tip, it's fairly painless and normally quick (5/10 mns)
taraw226 05-20-2008, 11:21 AM i love getting my eyebrows waxed lol. it does hurt a bit (and make sure you don't have to go anywhere after because they'll be red for a bit), but it's fast. i think i pay around $15 and then at least a $5 tip. i learned my lesson the last time though, i went to regis at the mall and the girl did a horrible job so i'm only going to go to the salon i normally use. try to get some recommendations from friends.
WGs_Grrl 05-20-2008, 11:25 AM OK, two things:
I am a huge fan of getting them threaded. It's a procedure performed by women of middle easter descent. It's precise, quick, and last MUCH longer than waxing...
I NEVER get my eyebrows waxed because too many salons have unqualified people performing the procedure. Also, because I use Differin and it thins the skin and makes you more susceptible to burns. BUT, stupid me, the other day, desperate because I couldn't get to my normal threader, I went ahead and got them waxed...
DUMB! STUPID! I now have tiny burns on both eyebrows. :panic
Fuhgeddaboudit...threading from here on out!!!
breechum 05-20-2008, 02:23 PM I get them waxed(and tweeze in between waxings). IMO, the waxing doesn't hurt, it's actually relaxing. I've paid anywhere from $7 to $15 but I guess the average has been about $10.

Where do you go?
