We finally finished the evaluation process on him today. He had his comprehensive testing done and today we met with a social worker to assess his social and emotional development. The testing yesterday didn't go very well. He did great the first half of the test but then he just completely shut down the second half. They still wouldn't go into any detail with me about the results for it though. The social worker today did say that he seemed to be a normal 4 yr old boy, so at least that is something good. But now we have to wait until June 11th to get the final results from all of the testing. :sigh
At least we are finally in the home stretch I guess.

Hmm, that's too bad that they couldn't break the testing into two sessions since it sounds like he started getting bored halfway through. Sometimes I think they forget that small children have short attention spans, there is a limit to how long they are going to cooperate. We've run into that several times with my daughter, once boredom sets in, it is hard to get accurate results. I hope June 11th comes quickly for you, and you get some answers and a plan.
I'm glad they finally finished it!!!

I agree with the boredom as well. He has a very short attention span with something that he doesn't care to be doing. So do I and so does his brother. I just hope that it doesn't affect him negatively and they want to try to diagnose something that isn't there.
The thing that bothered me is that the whole reason that we even started this process was for his speech and they didn't even evaluate his speech when we were there. :arg

Riley was the same way during his evaluation. He refused to do a lot of things he knew how (like kick a ball, play with a puzzle, sing a song) and it was so annoying! The thing was four hours long, I WAS READY to get out of there! I wish they broke them up better so that you could get more accurate results. But I'm glad you are close to finding some answers!
And if it's any consolation... we got Riley evaluated for his speech too, and just had him see a speech therapist for about 9 months and then he was reevaluated again (this time overall development) and that's when he we got his provisional diagnosis. So maybe see it as a blessing in disguise that they might find something that they wouldn't have if they had only done the speech one.
Either way, you guys are in my thoughts and keep us updated! I know how stressful all the waiting and appointments can be! :hugs
