So my dh has a school between his duty station and where his next place will be (recruiting) do we have to go there or can we stay in housing at his current staiton until his school is done? it's only a 30 day school???
ETA we don't have a house there yet (just my mom's who's driving me nuts) and there's not base housing...

You can stay where you are or even move ahead of him depending on which one is easiest for you all.

Trust me...stay where you are :yes
If his old command is paying for housing then you will want to stay only because he will not be able to check into his new command until school is over, which will mean you will not get BAH for the new area. If the BAH is higher where you are now then it won't be a problem, but if it is less then you could get stuck paying more for less BAH
We found out the hard way on that

Oh...saw that you could stay with your mom...I personally would stay still and start perusing militarybyowner.com and any other sites for rentals so maybe you won't have to stay with your mom once you PCS

When we PCS'd this last time, we had to check out of housing and stay somewhere else. Once he was checked out of the command we couldn't live in housing anymore. You can always contact your housing office to find out what the rules are.
