i know nothing.. well close to nothing
db said to me "i am going to put in a packet to crossrate as a seabee" and then he told me the possible places he could be stationed to make sure it was cool with me... now, my question is, what does crossrating entail?

He's just switching jobs which will probably come with new schooling and training. Fun!
i feel less dumb that i was right about MS, i thought maybe missouri but then realized that that is MO... i am actually an intelligent person. i promise. lol.
i am glad about the whole new job part, he hates his job... would he lose any rank though, he is e-4

Don't feel bad I don't know squat about the Navy and I just kinda wing everything. The best thing to do is (if in person) Smile and Nod !! ( If over the phone, email, whatever) Just say uh huh yea ok !!! And for all questions he might ask like what do you think? just say let me think about it.. but be careful when using these and ask someone that knows asap so that way big messes can be avoided.. HAHA works for me !!! Best of luck !!!

It would depend on the rates if he would loose Rank
And some of the Seabee rates are over manned so depending what he wants and what is available as to if he will actually get it.
My dh has crossrated 2 times
He went into the Navy undesignated.
He took the E4 test for a BT then they took out all BTs and Force Converted them to MMs that isn't a job he wanted So he cross rated to MAs has yet to loose rank but there are the rare occassions where that has happened
HTHs
thanks breezy! that was a big help.
tiffany, that is exactly what i do.
