I really thought Archuletta was going to win, but after hearing Cook sing with ZZTop, he definitely deserved to win.

As an aside, and not meaning to TJ, did anyone else on here think George Michael looked HORRIBLE??? He sang OK, but it made me very depressed to see him in his current state. :sadeyes

I don't know if he's got HIV/AIDS or what, but, oh my goodness... (and I only say that because his ex-lover died of that in the mid 90's, and he "doesn't believe" in testing...) :depressed

Same here- Cook was my favorite but I was afraid if he won American Idol that he wouldn't be able to put out a record true to him and his style (aka-Kelly Clarkson's first album). But man, he won by a LANDSLIDE!

Personally, Archuletta annoyed me. He has an amazing singing talent, but his stage personality sucked. That and "OPEN YOUR DAMN EYES!!!!". So. I am soooo happy Cook won!!!

(I almost ruined the surprise for myself yesterday!! I saw this post, and it took all my willpower not to open it, because being in Japan, we don't get the shows until a day later, so I hadn't seen the finale yet!!!!)
