I don't know how my post got a grumpy face... :shrug

Linsaylin's post about what everyone houses look like got me to thinking...
I really want to paint my living room, but we have been debating for two months on what color to paint. This is why it still hasn't been done. Here is my idea, DH's idea, and below I am going to put pictures of what my LR looks like right now.
I want to paint the wall behind the couch (the one with the two sconces and the picture) a burgundy (to match the curtains and throw pillows) and paint the other three walls a warm tan shade.

DH wants to paint the living room this color of green and do away with the red pillows and curtains.

My mom suggested we go with a darker green on the one wall and tan on the other three walls...
Like this green:

All of which would be accompanied by this color:

Here is my living room:

What do you think?

I like the green shades... I like the lighter "sage" greens though.

Since you have tan furniture, I would go with a little more color. I like the idea of a green shade but a warm green. If you go with the burgandy, I would do how you suggested and have an accent wall so the room doesn't seem to shrink in.

I like the burgundy. The green with the tan might be too bland.

You could go with the greens, either shade and keep your burgandy accessories. Seriously, they look good together. In San Diego I had hunter green curtains, beige couches, and throw pillows in burgandy and various shades of dark greens. I'd try painting one section of a wall (like a 4ft x 4ft square) in your color choice and just leave it for a week or so. This will give you a better feel for how you'd like that color in the living room. You could even paint it just above the couch and see how you would like it against the furniture. Then if you decide you hate it after a few days, you just have that one section to cover up. And if you love it well, then you've got a head start on painting! :D
