I don't have kids, but have worked in daycares and nannied foreverrr, and I honestly prefer the Diaper Champ. :) Just my opinion :lol

I used a Diaper Genie and Diaper Champ. I prefer the Diaper Champ. The bag refills with the Diaper Genie can get pricey and it REEKS after a while if you let the diapers collect until it's full.....the whole point of it, right?!

I agree, I had the Diaper Genie and it went in the garbage. I would definitely go for the Diaper Champ. :yes

I have a Genie and I wish I had the champ. the refils get way expensive. Plus once your kiddo gets older the refils only last a week.

The original diaper genie sucks badly.. I ahd 2 of them. The new diaper genie II is great.

I personally think they are a waste of money.....a little trash can works just as well, and the liners are free (grocery sacks)....JMO though

I like our diaper genie II. it doesnt ever smell, and so far we have only had to refill it once, and that was today....though I will admit that we only put poopy diapers in it most of the time and toss just the wet ones

To me once the kid was out of size 1 diapers the diaper genie was more of a pain than a help.. it didn't hold much and it was much easier to just toss the diapers in the regular trash that went out once a day... (saving those extra target/walmart sacks helps with the super smelly ones)..

The new one is a HUGE improvement over the original one.

I just use a regular trash can with a lid and use scented trash bags. Even with her really stinky diapers, I only have to take her trash out once a week.

I had one after my daughter was born. It eventually went into the trash! It still stunk!

I'm not even going to bother. I have heard far too many negative things.

i had one but it filled up fast and after awhile, it wasn't twisting the baggies tight enough and they were just unwinding inside. so basically, when i went to empty it, there was just one huge bag in there with about 20 diapers in it. lol. gross.

IMO, the diaper champ is better. i had a diaper genie and it sucked. it was a pain in the ass to change and once the kids get bigger, it hardly holds any diapers. my friend had a diaper champ and it was super easy to use and you don't have to buy special refills for it.

I had one and it went in the trash. It smelled so badly after awhile. Even bleach didn't get the smell out.

i had a the diaper geinie II and it was fine. the only time i really noticed the smell was when i had to change the liner. As they get bigger you do have to change the liner more often but even if i was using a trash can and trash bags it would be a waste of trash bags cause i wouldn't want them sitting there more then a few days anyway. maybe i am just really anal about things like taking the trash out. not to mention a trash can the diaper are going to reek everytime you open the lid to add another one anyway.

I have a diaper genie and love it

I have been using plastic grocery bags honestly. Seemed to be the cheapest solution. WAY less smell too. Even if I toss the twisted, tied grocery bag in the kitchen trash it doesn't let the smell escape. Unlike the Genie. :pukey

I have the diaper pail that you put regular garbage bags in. We like that one. It will stink after a week but anything will. Just stick a stick-em in there and we are good to go. I thought the other one was a waste of money.

I think any small trash can with a lid works just fine. No matter what you buy, if you let diapers build up more than 2 days the house will stink. I have a genie and it's okay, but it's more work than I want to take the diapers out to the trash. It's easier to just grab the bag out of the trash can and replace the lid.
