I rarely broke out and all of a sudden some zits popped up. Ive read before that pregnant woman shouldn't use certain lotions that help with acne because it contained a certain product that could hard my skin cause of my hormones. Does anyone know if Proactive is safe to use?? TIA

I wouldn't chance it since it's fairly new to the market...
It's up to you....some doctors says yes while others say no...

Ask your OB. I'm sure they could tell you what is best to use on it and not destroy your skin in the meantime. I've been lucky with this pregnancy cause my breakouts have been less than before I got preggers. Wish I could help more, but I'm not sure.

I wouldnt chance it. My face broke out bad up until a couple weeks ago. I never really had acne when I was younger.

Because I developed an allergy to the 2 popular zit killing ingredients I've researched proactive. Its benzoyl peroxide and/or salicylic acid, the 2 products I'm allergic to.

Op, ask your ob or get a referral to a dermatologist.

My face broke out pretty bad for awhile and then got really dry. :( Its just part of the pregnancy journey I guess.

the same thing happened to my friend when she got preggo...That stinks..I am sorry!! If I were you I would just ask your doctor for some suggestions and on some topical creams or face washes to avoid..

I have found that Clearasil Ultra (?) works really well...

Proactive contains salicylic acid and is NOT SAFE to use.

Buy some sulfur cream, it works miracles and a tub ($4) will last you months! Tea tree oil will help, too. Just make sure you get the pure stuff(any healthfood store will have it).

doc told me not to use proactiv because it contains benzoyl peroxide...which is a teratogen (possibly causes cancer/birth defects/etc.) so i didn't use it. :shrug
