Anyone know how we'd go about getting a puppy while we're in Germany. I want some company during the day since I'm home alone a lot... Just curious if anyone on here knew.

when we lived there, we bought a dog from a petshop...paperwork and everything was provided. kinda expensive but worth it to know he was properly vaccinated and came from a good bloodline. then, we had to go to the base vet clinic and have him registered on the base.

My friend had a dog while in germany but I'm not sur if she got it here and took it over or got it there and brought it back. Its a well travelled pooch. When bringing it back to the us you're subject to whatever quarantine rules are in effect for germany. Its best to research those FAR in advance.

If you want a certain breed I could help you find a local breeder. Or you can go to a petshop or try to adopt one at a local shelter.

Hm... Okay thanks. Any idea on how to find a pet shop? Otherwise we want something smaller like a Corgi... I don't really know what's available here.

The base has a shelter. I would check there first.:) There are tons of breeders over there though. Good luck, just remember to keep good records of the shots and stuff for when you move back.
