So, I am working on planning my trip to GA for hubby's weekend pass.. June 28th!! Woot Woot!! Anyway, I need to book a hotel, which hotels are decent? I will be staying there 2 nights without him there so I don't want to stay somewhere sketchy or scary... I also don't want to pay an arm and a leg if I don't have to. I have heard good things about the Comfort Inn... anywhere else? What about staying on post? Thanks guys!!

Sounds good! I know people who have stayed at Comfort Inn and liked it... it is almost 100 dollars a night though!! I'll deal though to not be somewhere scary :D

And yes, this is Rachel posting under Kayla's account again... because I am too lazy to sign her out and sign me back in!!

Oh, and as for staying on at fort benning? They told me when I called that the soldier had to be there for 45 days before I could make reservations. So I waited the right amount of time. When I called to book my room they were full already. I would try it but for sure dont count on it!

DO NOT stay on Victory Drive!!!!!!!!!!!! Generally the higher the exit (and further from post) the nicer the hotel. The cabins at Uchee Creek (the campground on post) are really cute though and the campground is really decent and decently priced. Need to book them a good amount in advance though.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention Victory Dr. Dh stressed that point to me.

Good to know... I will call the hotel on post, are they open on weekends? Hmm... suppose I could call and find out!! I don't know that he would want to stay on post though, since he will have been there for like 4 months by then!!!!

And yes... this is Rachel again :D

I have stayed at Comfort Inn in on Macon Rd and it was fine. Anything on Macon Rd. Vetrans Drive or Manchester Expressway exit is fine (It is the exit the mall is on)...about 5 miles straight up expressway from enterance to Benning. They do have a military discount (I think it was $70)

Good to know... I called the hotel on Ft Benning and they are full and don't have any openings until August... or something like that. But I am going to look into the cabins on the campground!! They look nice if they have openings. I think he would rather not stay on post anyway, I will look at the Comfort Inn. I would rather spend a little more for somewhere nice, you know?

some hotels, you can call the night before you want to check in & anywhere in between that to see if there were cancellations.
