Hi ladies :D
What did you all find that you realllly needed for when you first arrived overseas, and what could have waited to be sent in the standard shipment? I'm trying to make lists for everything and my mind is just blank :grumpy

Well, ship off your basic kitchen items. There are kitchens items you can barrow until you get your stuff but I tell you sometimes it just isn't in the greatest shape. We had some pots and pans that were once non stick but most of it was scratched off and in horrid condition.
I am not sure what else, our stuff came a month after we did so we didn't live to long with out it. We brought a lot of stuff with us on the plane, in fact we had to pay for the extra weight but ohwell, I packed all our bathroom stuff, brought pretty much every stitch of clothing, stuff to keep the kids entertained like DS's, laptops, iPods.
ETA: I am in Korea BTW!

I wanted my kitchen stuff. Plus a lot of bathroom stuff. other than that, I was good. I packed as many of my clothes and towels as I could in my suitcase.

Sheets, towels, air mattresses, pillows and cases, shower curtain, movies, some books, more clothes, a set of dishes, basic cooking supplies(pots, pans, cookie sheets, cutters, mixing bowls, just the basics), glasses, brita pitchers, we even put our computer in ours, lol.
And definitely get an internet phone. We save around 50 bucks a month thanks to our internet phone. well worth the expense. We have ours through lingo and it;s been used in korea, kuwiat, and now almost 2 years in Italy.
