So I was looking stuff up online about wedding vows and here are some that I sent to DF and he likes....what do you ladies think?

#1. "I, _______, take you, ________, to be my husband/wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love and honor you all the days of my life."

#2 I take you ,______________, to be my wife/husband and I promise before God and all who are present here to be your loving and faithful husband/wife, as long as our lives shall last. I will serve you with tenderness and respect, and encourage you to develop God’s gifts in you.

#3I, ______, take you _____ to be my wife, before God who brought us together; to love and cherish you even as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for it, to lead you and share all of life's experiences with you by following God through them. That through His grace, ____, we might grow together into the likeness of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord

thanks for the imput ladies!

my vows were long. i have no clue what i said. LOL

but i had a court house wedding and just said whatever the guy said... alls i know is that they were traditional, but i liked them (sickness and in health, richer poorer, protect, faithful, all that good stuff... i actually thought the judge said all the things that had to be said :))

i have played around with the idea of writing our own vows (for our family wedding that will be in december :))... maybe try that? use traditional vows and add something you want said?

you could probably incorporate things from all of them :)

My Father-in-Law had a big book of all kinds of ceremonies with vows we looked through(hes a minister)... they had contemporary, new age, different religions etc We mixed a few together. I didn't want to say till "death do us part" for some reason. We said something similar to your #1. But that book was soo neat!

I, ___, take you ___, to be my wedded (husband/wife), to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, 'til death do us part: according to God's holy ordinance, and thereto I pledge you my love and faithfulness.

I like this one. :)

I picked # 2. One seems too plain, and three is too long.

I like them all
depends on how religious you want to be
1 =not really religious
2 =mild
3=explicitly religious

The sound great. I wrote our whole order of ceremony for our wedding. I can email it to you if you like. It is similar to them, but a little longer and more personal.
