So I had a question. My finace has been in bootcamp for 5 days and I had received a voicemail telling me to get a hold of his grandma so I can get his address. I was able to get his address the day after he arrived. So...has anybody been able to get an address this fast? and also, I had seen on the Great Lakes website to write his address like this... Ship # Div # blah blah. Instead of just writing division 252 I write base division 252. Will my fiance still get my letters or am I writting his address wrong?

I would switch to how the Great lakes site has it, otherwise it can hinder him getting his letters in a timely fashion. as for getting the addy that fast, again it really just depends on lots of factors. sometimes it takes a few weeks sometimes a few days just depends. :)

I dug up one of DH's letters to me from when he was in boot and this is how it was always written:
SR last name, first name middle int.
Div:943 Ship: 06
RTC
3510 Illinois St.
Great Lakes, IL 60088-3110
*Obv the div & ship # will be different for you, what ever you have. And the street name and number and zip code may be different. This was just to show you how it's written.*

Oh, and I didn't get his address until he sent his 1st letter about 2-3 weeks into boot. If it'll make you feel better to wait, then wait. In fact, I suggest waiting. He's most likely still processing and in zero week yet, meaning he hasn't even started boot like the training and such. And they normally can't write until they start week 1.

I am sure he will.. They may just take a bit longer.
Did it have his name on it after SR?

yes it had SR. Everything was written like it supposed to but instead of just DIV I put Base Division. So everything was accurate.
