Josh goes to A school in September. We aren't sure how long it is or if he'll even get restationed. My question is if he does get restationed how long will he have to find a place to live, move, etc etc. How long did any of you have to move to another duty station? He said something about only having two weeks but he didn't know for sure, he just said it.

Is he in Boot camp right now? That is the only time you get only two weeks usually. Most of the time when transferring from one command to another you have 30 days from the time you checked out until the time you have to be to the next place to check in.

When we moved from FL. to here John took his house hunting leave which is 10 days. We used that to move us up here and then he flew back to FL. for 6 weeks. After that he took 30 days vacation time and he also got 5 days travel time on top of that. He was given the house hunting leave and the travel days but the rest came out of the days he had on the books for leave.

No he's not in bootcamp. He's on a ship right now and they are writing up orders for him to go to A school right now.

Is he going to A school again for something different or did he not go right after boot camp?

He went after bootcamp for "seamen school" now he's going back to get his "EO, Equipment Operator." That's what he wants to do in the Navy.. If he graduates from EO school he'll get his E4

ok from my experence, which isn't much BTW, you only get to move if the school is longer than 120 days. When John moved us here he didn't get anytime he had to use his free time and get special permission to take time off. School is long long hours. John leaves here at 5 am and gets home about 7 pm if hes lucky and no one f***ed up, plus he has duty every four days. John set up housing and I did the move. Dh got his orders from a-school about a month before he graduated. We left great lakes on april 18th and he reported to san diego in the first week of may. We did not move with him. Dd and I stayed at my mom's until he got us a place to live here. About a 6 weeks later. Then we flew out here and out furiture was delivered the next day. HTH
