I'm just curious if my DF can request any off time during his schooling in Groton? I have read his order and he finished A-School tomorrow and flys to Groton. But I thought that BESS was only like a 26 days(according to the website) or so but his orders state like 52 days? :screwy so I don't KNOW!!! Can he try and put for a leave as soon as he gets there tommorrow? He is a CS and his orders doesn't say he is doing any special training. I know the days are like 14 hours long so I'm just wondering if he has to be there but won't start classes right away? Any help would be appericiated!:D

I don't think they can take leave while they are still in school....not sure though.

The school might be 26 days as in M-F, so he would be there for 52 days total, more than likely. My husband says it is up to the command as far as getting leave... he is an instructor down here, and if they can make up the school and the instructor allows it, then it good... But he says it varies by command.... HTH
