Keilana has co-slept and just turned 19 months.. time to get her a bed she will actually use as the crib we bought has only been used a handful of times for naps :P.

Did you go straight to a twin bed with rails or use a toddler bed? She rolls around like crazy at night and I'm kinda scared of her rolling around a rail by herself. What kind of toddler bed did you use?

Any advice would be appreciated. :D

I have used both, but prefer the twin bed with rails that can be taken off later. You can pick out much cuter sheets and it still looks like your bed since she has been co-sleeping. Good luck :)

We are doing the same thing...I went ahead and got a toddler bed with deep sides for her. My other kids I used a twin bed. But this time with the baby we are doing a toddler bed 1st.

DD (turning 3 mext month) has a toddler bed but never uses it. I think they are a waste of money. Mine toddler bed was given to me, I would have never bought one. When DD gets a bedroom set of her own within the next year she will be getting a full or queen to have until she is out of the house.

I would go for the twin and get the rails or put it up to the wall and get rails on one side. Good luck!

Our crib turned into a toddler bed and DS went into it at 14 months. He didn't get a "real" bed until he was 3. lol He got bunk beds then, the bottom is a full and the top is a twin.

If our crib wouldn't have been a 5 in one....we would've bought a twin or a full and just put a rail up. I think spending money on an actual toddler bed is a waste. JMO.

personally, if it were me, i'd skip the expense of a toddler bed and move straight to a twin size (unless you have a convertible crib). we DID get a toddler bed for our oldest when she was around 15 months old (she was big for her age and we had DD #2 on the way who would soon need the crib). it was a waste to me. she would have been fine just going straight to a twin and it would've saved us from having to deal with her hissy fit when she got the twin bed lol.

I'd go straight to a twin and rails. I used toddler beds for my kids and it's a waste of money IMO.

I moved DS straight to a twin size bed... It was the WORST thing I have ever went threw with him.... He screamed and kicked and cried all the time.... So I finally broke down and bought him a toddler bed... and I have not had one tough night with him since... so when it came time for DD to start using a bed, i just went and got her a toddler bed - also because she is still so small for her age.

We just converted Ethan's crib to a toddler bed. Rails didn't come with it, so we ordered a Snug Tuck Pillow for him. :)

See that's the issue I have... she has a convertible crib but I didn't think to ask about the short rail for the front to make it a toddler bed. I'll look at that pillow, thanks :D

Eian went to a toddler bed at 11months, and then at about 16 months or so we switched him to a twin size, *no rails, just pillows on the floor* because the toddler was just too small...he loves to have plenty of space on the bed so we had to get hima bigger one. He's 3 now and still in the twin size.

We didnt or dont co-sleep but we are going to go to a twin bed because I feel like it will be an easier transition for him. I am just going to get rails and put them on the side of the bed. I am also going to look into getting a headboard and footboard so that he doesnt roll off that end:) As I often find him shoved up against the side of his crib bars:)

With my DS, we were given a toddler bed, which my son would not sleep in. We got him a twin bed and he left the crib behind with no complaints. With our girls they went into toddler beds, then around 4 yrs. old they moved into twin beds.
