I've started buying things for DH BCT and he won't leave until January/February 2009. I know they get an advance when the get there, but I don't want him to have to buy EVERYTHING!! Did any of you guys here do that before your loved one left?

My DH only brought was was on the list to bring. Everything else they wanted him to buy when he got to BCT. Maybe he can at least take a phone card and some stamps. I didn't find out about 3 weeks into it that he didn't have a phone card. He got lucky and found one on the ground. When they went to go get everything they needed, they were almost out of stamps, so he was only able to get like 4 of them.

I'm working off the list from the Fort Jackson website. I am planning on sending envelopes that are already addressed to me and have stamps on them. I forgot about phone card, thanks for reminding me!!!

Can you send them phone cards? My boyfriend just left for BCT at Fort Jackson today, and he didn't really know what to bring, so he just brought what was on the list. And are stamps really gonna be a problem? Because I'll go crazy if he can't write to me. :(
