OK, so i need some help with where to go on our honeymoon. My dad is covering our airfare but we are paying the rest and with the cost of this wedding we can only afford about 1000$. We want to go for 5 nights, due to DF's schedule.

I was thinking an all inclusive so we don't have to worry about too many expenses while we are there.

Also DF is the type of person that cannot lay on the beach for hours and days at a time. So i want to go somewhere that there is stuff for us to do as well as relax.

So any of you ladies have any ideas to point me in a direction? :thankyou

$1000 for 2 people for 5 days. Discounted cruises are coming to mind.

I am in the same predicament at you! I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE to just lay on the beach all day and read and tan and sleep. And fiance would go BONKERS doing that! So I have no idea where to go on a honeymoon. Unfortunately we have to pay for all of it ourselves! I'm interested to see what others suggest for you.

yea, there are all inclusive deals but at nicer properties they are pricey. say sandals for example, 2 people 5 days that'll be atleast 4500-5000 for both. if you were to cut it back say 1 night and find a special, maybe you could swing it for 3. but 2 people for 1000 is a tighter budget. so get creative, maybe do a 3 day bahamas cruise, I've seen those ultra cheap $250 a person, that's $500, than do 2 nights in Miami at a hotel, $800, than use the other $200 for car rental there or discounted airfare or something like that.

just gotta check around and oh crap now that I'm thinking about it, is it Gate1 Travel something or other? I remember seeing that with good packages CHEAP. But, beware I've never used them nor know anyone who did.

If you have airline miles from credit cards or parents do or something, that could always be free airfare, than spend the $1k on the actual honeymoon.

Thanks girls!!!!!

My father is paying for the airfare, so i am not worried about that. Just the actual place is really what i am trying to find. I actually found a site that list cruises that offer military discounts at AMAZING rates!

But I am worried about the bill we will rack up with drinks and excursions off the boat, KWIM?

:gaah this is overwhelming. Have I mentioned I am gong crazy looking at all the resorts and what not on the Internet.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Williamsburg has nice deals and Busch Gardens and VA Beach nearby. Also look into St. Augustine FL. They have beaches for you and a winery and haunted tours for both of you.

Check hotwire and other online places. Usually it's cheaper to buy airfare and hotel in a "bundle package" than separately....

Have you got passports already?!?

costa rica is extremely cheap with lots to do. We stayed in a place that was $40.00 a night and ate like kings in nice restaurants for a few dollars a meal. we were on the west coast.
I think east coast is more expensive.

Technically it was on Maui, HI... we got married there since that's where we grew up and it's where both our families are. So yeah it was just like being home so we really didn't have a real honeymoon.

I would go to Belize. There are things to do like going into the jungle to see jaguars but also plenty of opportuninties for beaching. And they are an English-speaking country so you don't have to worry about a language barrier.

Good luck with your decision!

Ok, so my honeymoon was moons ago, but....We went to cancun, I hear cozumel is nicer for snorkeling, but there is beach and there are things to do there. Not sure the cost these days though.

Some ideas, what about Tn, The Smokey Mountians, there is lots to in that area, the scenery is absolutely beautiful, they have some great honeymoon type deals.

You want beach, what about Hilton Head SC.

Have you ever been to San Antonio TX???

What about California?
