Do you believe that taking herbs for everything works? Would you leave your medical issues (like anxiety attacks) to herbs?

Would you leave your medical issues (like anxiety attacks) to herbs? brandewijn 05-29-2008, 01:04 PM I leave a LOT of things to herbs/natural remedies. But I believe that there are some problems that require a doctor's attention. rcwant2be 05-29-2008, 01:07 PM Simply put, no. I do use lavendar a lot for headache and stress/anxiety relief, but I think modern medicine is quite necessary. Posted via Mobile Device Jennygirl 05-29-2008, 01:08 PM I have a friend who only does them...But I also feel that they have just as bad effects as normal medicine. LittleMsSunshine 05-29-2008, 01:09 PM If I knew more about it.... and if it actually worked.... I'd definitely be open. I take vitamins.... is that the same thing? DB and I bought fiber tablets, garlic pills, and some kinda natural multi-vitamin... We haven't started taking them yet though... Green~Mammy 05-29-2008, 04:14 PM Naturopathic methods helped my youngest get rid of his chronic ear infections. I think Naturopathic and homeopathic methods can be very helpful when dealing with illness. Loretta 05-29-2008, 04:15 PM I will 100% always try natural remedies before putting foreign chemicals in my body. Chemical compounds are a last resort for me. carmel11725 05-29-2008, 04:19 PM I will 100% always try natural remedies before putting foreign chemicals in my body. Chemical compounds are a last resort for me. same for me. I am actually friends with a mom that is a nautropathic DR and has her own practice here in town. I am actually friends with a mom that is a nautropathic DR and has her own practice here in town. And we have a friend who is a holistic vet and is very big into them for humans...She doesnt just rely on it...And call it common sense, but how many people have it? harrisonsdream 05-29-2008, 04:39 PM I leave a LOT of things to herbs/natural remedies. I am actually friends with a mom that is a nautropathic DR and has her own practice here in town. agree esp. when it comes to dd i'd rather do something homeopathic than chemical Jennygirl 05-29-2008, 04:40 PM I agree with it, but its not just something that should be used because they think it can cure everything. Because everyone knows sometimes you need something stronger. A lot of people look crap up online and are like ok, im taking this... Steph* 05-29-2008, 04:40 PM That is called common sense.most people that use naturopathic and/or homeopathic medicines don't just do it willy nilly. :yes Jennygirl 05-29-2008, 04:41 PM Its all fine to say people will do it naturally, but anyone can look crap up online... This is where it creates issue for people, use a professional, not the internet. I made this debate because my friend medicates and diagnoses herself by the internet. harrisonsdream 05-29-2008, 04:42 PM anyone that medicates and/or diagnosis the internet isn't doing it the right way and that goes for using western medicine vs. homeopathic Jennygirl 05-29-2008, 04:43 PM I use them myself, but it was from a professionals reccomendation...I think this is something that goes farther than just reading a book or websites...Espically when some have canceling affects. Jennygirl 05-29-2008, 04:44 PM Most do it because their insurance doesnt cover eastern meds or the alternative. I made this debate because my friend medicates and diagnoses herself by the internet. Then this person has a whole different issue, nothing to do with herbal medicine. :lol Jennygirl 05-29-2008, 04:45 PM She swears herbs will cure everything she has...Im like I dont even think a brain transplant will help. carmel11725 05-29-2008, 04:49 PM i think homeopathic remedies and alternative medicine can cure A LOT of different illnesses. and no one should ever medicate themselves without doing research and asking Q's. Like i said, i will always seek out natural remedies first, BUT there is a time and place for modern medicine. I would say your friend is a whole other kettle of fish their are plenty of people that do that w/ traditional medicine as well. Jennygirl 05-29-2008, 05:07 PM I would say your friend is a whole other kettle of fish their are plenty of people that do that w/ traditional medicine as well. She does it with both but its easier for her to get herbs than medication. Green~Mammy 05-29-2008, 05:09 PM That is seriously a whole different debate topic then do you believe in herbal curatives. :) Germanchick 05-29-2008, 05:18 PM I wish American insurance carriers would be more willing to allow Naturopathic and homeopathic doctors in what they cover. I completely believe in it. carmel11725 05-29-2008, 05:24 PM I wish American insurance carriers would be more willing to allow Naturopathic and homeopathic in what they cover.
