so my dress for the ball is red. david's bridal apple red, to be precise:D so - should i wear red lipstick or would that be skanky? i have pretty full lips, and dh loves red lipstick on me, but i don't wanna look trashy.

red lipstick just isn't my thing, it doesn't go well with my skin tone and what not. but if you can pull it off more power to you :grin:

exactly. red lipstick is a bold statement, so if youre gonna play up your lips, play-down the eyes a little.

There is a shade of red for every woman - get after it, girl. For your first red, I'd probably recommend a consult. at a cosmetics counter; not the grocery store or pharmacy. They can recommend a red that will flatter your eyes and skin tone.

:giggle maybe there's hope for me! lol well i'm not really a fan of red lipstick though. but it's probably just because it doesn't really suit me that well, or i've never really tried :grin:

Yes, red lipstick would look fabulous with your dress! Your eyes would look great with a slightly shimmery beige/ivory shadow all the way up to the brow and black eyeliner. It is such a classic look with red lips.

You should check with the clinique ladies. Macys, nordstrom and the PX have cosmetics gals that are trained to help you find the right color.

Wear a stain instead-and top it with clear gloss. A peachy cheek and shimmery nude or taupe eyes would complete the classy red look. :yes

Stains don't smear, smudge, or get on your teeth...and they last a hell of a lot longer. I hear even some of the drugstore brands offer a few now.
