View Full Version : Really concerned
Tiffany 05-30-2008, 10:26 PM I have noticed for a couple of days Madison will shake all over. Like she gets a chill and her whole body will shake for a second. She seems fine otherwise but it is creeping me out because I have never ever seen a baby do this. Anyone have an infant that has done this? I am going to call her doctor to ask about it but I am SO worried. She had a complication when she was born because my dumbass doctor let me labor with her for 31 hours before doing a c section and I KNOW that they had to have known that she was positioned the wrong way. Her head was turned sideways instead of straight on so she wouldn't come out but for the whole 31 hours her head banging into my bone down there and her head was smashed in and really bruised. She had severe jaundice because of all the bruising. I am so worried that this has caused some kind of damage and we just dont know it yet.
Caimbrie 05-30-2008, 10:31 PM There are so many thing it could be hun.. it could be nothing or it could be something. Try not to stress it, but make sure you talk to the doc asap :hugs
They will probably check her to make sure they arent small seizures.

I hope to God it is nothing and she is just getting chills. That is what it looks like she is doing but I have never seen a baby do that.
Mommy2Bailey 05-30-2008, 10:35 PM I hope she will be ok. Dont stress too much until you know for sure.

FTCWifey 05-30-2008, 10:40 PM Are her limbs rigid when she has these shaking episodes?

No she just gets a little shake over her whole body for a fraction of a second. It looks just like she is getting the chills. She seems perfectly fine before and after it happens.
Tiffany 05-30-2008, 10:47 PM I am so worried because her dad has had a seziure before and his brother and an uncle that died had epilepsy.

Ok, I was going to say if her limbs straighten out then you should be calling 911. Maybe she is just getting the chills, but absolutely make an appointment to talk to her paed about them. That must be very stressful for you. :hugs
Tiffany 05-30-2008, 10:49 PM Thanks for all the information. I am going to call her doctor in the morning. I cant wait until monday.

:eek Ok with that info I would be taking her to see someone asap. They could still be seizures, just not grand mal seizures.

I think that is a good idea.
define 05-30-2008, 11:06 PM I hope it's nothing serious! My first thought was seizures, like others have suggested.
FC wifey 05-30-2008, 11:10 PM yup, sounds like seizures. Babies do not get "chills" until later on... Good luck! keep us posted.
MIKOSWIFEY 05-31-2008, 12:09 AM Not trying to scare you, but my sister has seizures to this very day that look like chills, only she doesn't remember doing it. I'm glad you're taking her to the Dr. Hopefully it's something that can be explained easily.
Callie 05-31-2008, 12:13 AM Ava used to shake her head and it was weird because she would just shake it back and forth a few times and that would be it. I asked the doctor about it and he said that it was normal for some kids to do that especially when they are sleepy. Good luck. I would just call her doctor
amazinggrace 05-31-2008, 12:21 AM I am so worried because her dad has had a seziure before and his brother and an uncle that died had epilepsy.
I would take her in ASAP if she does it again, because of the family history. :hugs I hope everything turns out ok and it's normal.
amazinggrace 05-31-2008, 12:21 AM How often does she do it?
Tiffany 05-31-2008, 11:17 AM How often does she do it?

Tiffany 05-31-2008, 11:25 AM I am waiting for the nurse to call me back.
