Have you ever gotten off of a phone call with your Sweetie that didn't end the way you would have liked it to? I had my once a week call from him but it ended weird. We've had some great mushy emails lately, but the call was a little off. It's been bugging me so much and I hate that I have to wait a week to talk to him. Do you girls ever have those strange calls? Is it because they are so busy? Or because other people are standing around them? I just felt like he didn't send me those mushy emails at all.:confused

I totally know what you mean. The last phone call I got from my db which was a couple weeks ago when he was in port. It was the first I had heard from him since he deployed. He sounded very distant and he had to leave rather quickly cause his ride was there to get him to go wherever he was going. He just said bye and hung up. It was just really weird since before he left no matter how short the phone call had to be he always said he loved me. It was just really weird and it has been bugging me since then. I mean I know he loves me but it was just one of those awkward phone calls.

We were talking and he had a bad and a long day. I was excited to hear from him and gor mushy. He said "I know you want mushy stuff now, but I can't give it to you, so please don't ask for it now." Well, it shocked me, but he called the next day and apologized and felt very bad. I didn't hold it against him, it was one time thing during this entire time. He is always very sweet so it wasn't a big deal to me.

:hugs Being a prior deployment survivor and having had both my DH and my Dad deployed, I can tell you that as strange as it seems, this is not uncommon especially during first deployments in which you are a couple. He's adjusting to the enviroment and the stresses and so are you. One of the most common ways of coping with "over there" is by shutting down and pretending everything isn't real or is a bad dream. Sometimes they do act weird because of being surrounded by other soldiers all the time, or being at a public phone, or because they want to tell you something but can't.
