I was wanting to go swimming today, my MIL's boss and family is out of town and we can use their pool. Is Madison (4months) too young? Would the water be too cold for her? It is 80 plus degrees outside and the pool is still at 70 degrees. TIA

It's fine... people bring infants in pools all of the time. Just some infants don't like it until they are used to it.

Exactly.. she may flip out because the water feels cold.. but if you let her get used to it, she'll probably have a great time. Do you have a baby boat for her???
We had this one for Cam, and she LOVED it. http://cgi.ebay.com/Swim-School-Deluxe-Baby-Boat-Pool-Water-Float-NEW_W0QQitemZ250209229625QQcmdZViewItem

She has a little float with an umbrella over it. Thanks ladies. I think we might be going tomorrow because there is a chance of rain. :D

70 degrees is too cold, imo. I was at my parents pool yesterday, it was over 80 degrees, and the pool temp was 68 and FREEZING. I couldn't even get in. I assume you haven't tested the water yet for how it feels, right? Yeah...you wouldn't even want to get in!
Otherwise, when it is warm enough for you, than it is for her and I don't think there's anything wrong with her going! I put my DD at 3 months old in a pool :tu
If it is super cold when you are first getting in, don't put her in. Her body can't warm up like ours does. I would only take my kids in the pool if when I put my feet in, that it feels just fine. If I have to "wait to warm up"- too cold.

It will be fine :yes When we took DS last year (he was older though) we just stuck his feet in first, then got his legs wet, then a few mins later we got his shirt wet and so on so that way he gradually got used to it!

I am going to take my son swimming in my parent's pool as soon as it gets nice, he is 1.5 months right now... I don't think I would take him in a public pool yet but our own pool? yes!

My son was in the pool at 3 months. He loved it and swims like a fish now. My daughter same thing :D They both love the water.

I wouldn't put Madison in a public pool either.
