Do you buy or make a gift for your childrens teacher at the end of the year to say thank you?
If so, what do you buy or make them?
SInce this is my 1st year with a child in school I have no idea what to get her teacher. Any ideas would be helpful.

I don't have a child yet, but my mother has been one for my entire life so I spent a lot of time around her and in her classroom. Teachers are so incredibly under appreciated. They do so much for the kids. I don't think my mom ever stops working, with grading papers and creating new lesson plans. She spends tons of money out of her own pocket to create a fun classroom for the kids. Those end of the years gifts from parents mean so much to the teacher, because it means someone is appreciating what they do.

to say thanks.......especially if we've had an amazing teacher that has been wonderful.

i'm getting my preschooler's teacher a gift card to her favorite restaurant and I'm giving my older son's two teachers both gift cards to borders.

sometimes I'll give gift cards to their favorite place to get manicures, jamba juice, their favorite teacher supply store. just something to say thanks.

I know that after volunteering in the class I see how much teachers pay out of pocket for things for the classrooms.....so I try to give them back as much as I can.

my mom always does like a Bookstore gift card and somethign else like one year we did those little Vera Bradley key chain idea holders and put the 10 dollar gift card in there.

My mom sometimes goes crazy though and my sister has like 3 teachers and an aide :lol

I think teacher gifts, even if you just do like wrapped up cookies or something are great and something a good teacher definitely deserves.

I assumed to do it becuase for the last almost year the teacher has been taking care and educating my child. My daughter even always tells me that her teacher is like her mommy when she is at school. I even was gonna get a little something for the bus driver since she is the one that cares for my child while on the way to and from school.

Also, me being a past preschool teacher and now a childcare provider, if the parents get me a gift of thanks it makes me feel like I have done my job in taking care of their child and educating them and helping their child grow in so many different ways.

I'm going to make some chocolate cupcakes, and another mother in T's class is making the teachers lunch. I'll probably get the bus drivers Starbucks giftcard.
